Increase in healthcare recruitment activity in 2022

  • by
care sector recruitment - management vacancies

An article in the ITIJ published the recent data showing an increase in recruitment in the care sector, with 2022 having a 37% increase in recruitment (based on job applications rather than just vacancies) across the sector.

The biggest increase was at entry level – healthcare assistant or equivalent – but several areas including nursing, specialist vacancies, and management recruitment all showed an increase in applications.

Obviously there is still a shortage of staff for the care sector with many vacancies left unfilled or taking extended periods of time to recruit into, and healthcare recruitment still remains challenging but many will be encouraged to see an uplift in the number of people looking to join either at entry level or moving into the care sector from other career paths.

The analysis came from a recruitment software business called Occupop, and aggregated data from across various sources including job boards such as Indeed, CV Library, Monster and also social media channels such as LinkedIn.
